Curriculum
Communicating and Listening
All the facets of communication are developed as needed -- development of joint attention, gestures and body language, signs, use of pictures, sound formation, articulation, and auditory training.

Math
We feel that students must incorporate arithmetic into their daily life. So we aim for understanding, not only for rote learning. We provide students with multiple exposure to concrete examples and non-examples of the concepts. Our salient feature is that we do not believe in "exposing" atudents to information, we believe in "teaching" that information.
Reading
We use a phonics approach because the sounds, once learned, can be generalized and new words can be read. We teach comprehension. We teach how to use reading as a source of information and pleasure.
Writing
Drills are used to teach students to control the shapes they make. We, then, develop fluency in writing. As the advance in skills, students learn to tell facts, take notes and express thoughts in writing. Grammar is taught as part of our writing programmes.
Spelling
Spelling is based on the analysis of speech sounds and their transcription into visual symbols. It plays an essential role in the progression of reading and writing skills.

Other Academic Subjects
Natural and Physical Science are part of our curriculum. We aim to develop a broad understanding of Canada, the world and our environment.
Organizational Skills
We teach how to study, how to keep a homework book, how to take notes, how to memorize, how to analyse a problem at hand and how to be responsible. We teach how to learn, first with support and progressively more independently.
Interactive Learning
We enourage discussions and verbal exchanges with adults and peers. Our students share their work with staff and each other in the learning process.
